SCI论文通常采用IMRD结构，即引言(Introduction)、方法(Methods)、结果(Results)和讨论(Discussion)。其中，Discussion是对研究主题的总结与升华，是决定论文是否能够被录用的关键因素。

然而，很多同学一到Discussion部分，就觉得没什么可写，或是陷入对研究结果的重复描述，又或是讨论的内容过于浅薄，导致论文被拒稿。

今天，我们就来学习一下如何写出高质量的Discussion吧！

1 Discussion写作五步法

1） 简单重申引言中提出的研究问题和假设，接着总结主要研究结果。

常用句型：

◆ The findings indicate that …

◆ The data present here suggest that …

◆ One of the aims of this study is to…

2） 解释研究结果的重要性及意义，这可能包括：识别数据之间的相关性和关系、解释结果是否符合假设、讨论意外结果，解释其出现的原因，即使它们不符合你的假设。

常用句型：

◆ In line with the hypothesis…

◆ Contrary to the hypothesized association…

◆ The results might suggest that x. However, based on the findings of similar studies, a more plausible explanation is y.

3） 将研究结果与现有文献进行比较，指出相同点和不同点，同时结合文献阐明，研究结果相比前人研究，是否有所进步，突出研究的创新性。

常用句型：

◆ These results confirm the existing evidence in X studies…

◆ Consistent with the prior studies, our study indicated/showed that...

◆ While previous studies have focused on X, these results demonstrate that Y…

4） 表明本研究可能存在的局限性，例如样本量不足、数据访问受限、潜在混杂变量等，提出可能的解决方案。

常用句型：

◆ There may be some possible limitations in this study，the first limitation is the… the second limitation concerns the…

◆ Nonetheless, these results must be interpreted with caution and a number of limitations should be borne in mind.

5） 展望未来，为进一步研究提供方向和建议。

常用句型：

◆ Further research is needed to establish…

◆ There is abundant space for further progress in analyzing…

◆ A further study with more focus on X should be done to investigate…

2 写作规则

不要过于重复研究结果。Discussion重点是对结果进行解释和分析，而不是简单重复已呈现在结果部分的信息。

不要在讨论中提出新的论点或结果，所有结果都该在“结果”部分叙述完整；所有术语也应在“引言”中就提出。

避免过度解读和猜测，只讨论已经在结果部分呈现的数据。

讨论局限性，目的是要加强研究可信度，而不是强调弱点或失败。

简明扼要表达观点，避免使用晦涩难懂的单词和过于复杂的句子结构，确保读者能够轻松get到你的意思。

语气客观中立，尽量使用主动语态，避免使用I、we、me等第一人称单词。

3 典型案例

以"Science Translational Medicine"期刊上的文章"Identifying Gut Microbe–Host Phenotype Relationships Using Combinatorial Communities in Gnotobiotic Mice"为例。
